hollow forms
Hollow forms are much more varied than bowls and platters, which are easier to describe; open shapes with the widest part at or very close to the opening.
A hollow form may be a 'closed' bowl with the widest point some way down in the body of the piece, or it may be a vase or hollow vessel where the opening is significantly smaller than the main body. They provide more challenge in their turning, but the shapes are only limited by the turner's tools, technical skills, and imagination
